Living in Conway
Conway is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina, and a popular town in Horry County. It is a short drive away from the beach and is perfect for people looking for a less crowded area with a "small home town" feeling.
Only 14 miles from the beach, Conway is a lively town with a more rural feel. There are plenty of golf courses, restaurants, and places to shop. There's also historic downtown Conway with plenty of things to do including shopping or catching a movie at the Theatre of the Republic. For those looking to move here, there is also the lively Coastal Carolina University with lots of programs for those looking to work around the water.
After you explore downtown and try some of the restaurants, you can check out the Waccamaw river that runs though the town. There's the Conway Marina, the Waccamaw river walk with beautiful shaded views and nice fishing spots, or you can take a boat tour along the river.
The area is currently growing and has over 12 new homes communities. There are plenty of choices from brand new construction to older ranch style houses to fit about anyones needs. If you're looking to live in an area that you can call home while still being a half hour from your favorite vacation destination, Conway is a great area.
